The official notification for JPSC was issued in January 27, 2024. The JPSC Prelims Exam for this year is scheduled to happen on March 17th, 2024. The JPSC Civil Service online registration started on February 1, 2024 and the final date for registration is February 29, 2024. About JPSC Exam

JPSC- Combined Civil Service Exam conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) is a state level competitive exam conducted for the recruitment for various administrative posts in a state like Deputy Collector, DSP, District Minority Welfare Officer, Jail Superintendent, etc.

Apply Online for JPSC civil service exam 2024

Follow below Steps.
1. Go to Home page of JPSC- Combined Civil Service Exam
2. Click on Login
3. Clock on New Registration – https://ccsc.digitalexamregistration.com/#/home/register
and enter all details asked in portal and submit.
4. Enter OTP received in mobile.
5. After successful validation a dashboard will open. Click on Start / View Application
6. Read all the Candidate Instruction carefully and click on consent i.e. “I confirm that I have read the instruction and advertisement” and Continue.
7. Select Exam – “Combined Civil service Examination – 2023”
8. A new page will open in which you have to enter the required details carefully and ensure that these details must be correct as document verification will be done after the completion of the JPSC Interview.
9. After ensuring the details to be correct, click on the submit option and a new page will be opened where you have to upload the Jharkhand PSC documents required.
10. Click on save and next option. Now, pay the JPSC application fee according to your category.
11. Finally, click on the final submit tab and log in again with your login credentials at the same time to download the filled Jharkhand PSC 2023 application form from the “Download Filled Application Section” and get its two sets printed for further use.
12. Also, take out the print of the JPSC fee payment receipt as the candidate have to present the said records and all related documents at the time of the interview which will be conducted after end of the Prelims and Mains exam.

Application fee for JPSC Exam 2024

1.  The examination fee will be collected through Payment Gateway through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/Wallet/Bharat QR/UPI. Information related to which is available on the Commission’s website www.jpsc.gov.in
2.  Examination fee for candidates belonging to Unreserved, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Extremely Backward Class (Schedule-I), Backward Class (Schedule-II) and category candidates will be Rs. 100/- (One Hundred) only.
3. Exemption in examination fee – The examination fee for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, Primitive Tribes and Scheduled Castes of Jharkhand state is only Rs. 50/- (Fifty). In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe, Primitive Tribe and other than Scheduled Caste category of Jharkhand state depositing the examination fee at concessional rate, their application form will be canceled and their candidature will be terminated and the application form will be accepted without paying the examination fee. Will not happen and they will be cancelled. Examination fee will be non-refundable.
4. Disabled candidates (minimum 40 percent total disability) are exempted from examination fee.

How to Download JPSC Exam 2024 Admit card.

1. Go to the official website of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.

2. Refer “JPSC Notification Panel” there will be a link provided to download the JPSC Admit Card.

3. Click on the link and enter JPSC application number/registration number, DOB, and given CAPTCHA and submit.

4. Admit card will appear on the screen now click on the download option.

5. Keep JPSC Prelims Admit Card PDF for the preliminary examination of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Service exam 2023 and for future purposes.

Jharkhand Public Service Main exam will be a descriptive type.

Eligibility Criteria of JPSC Exam 2024

The JPSC Eligibility contains details about the Jharkhand PSC age limit, JPSC educational qualification, and many more and must be checked before proceeding to the process of Jharkhand Public Service Commission Apply Online 2024 as the incomplete eligibility will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.

JPSC 2023 Age Limit

1. A candidate should have completed the minimum age of 21 years.
2. The upper age limit for unreserved category is 35 years.
3. As per resolution memo no. 29 dated-04.01.2021 of Personnel, Administrative Reforms &
5. Rajbhasha Department, Govt. of Jharkhand, the upper age limit for Economically Weaker
Section (EWS) is 35 years.
6. The upper age limit prescribed above will be relax able as below.
a. Extremely Backward Classes (Annexure-I)/Backward Classes (Annexure-II) – Upper age Limit
is 37 years
b. Female (Unreserved/Extremely Backward Classes (Annexure-I)Backward Classes Annexure- II) – Upper age Limit is 38 years
c. Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes (Male and Female) – Upper age Limit is 40 Years
d. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) A relaxation of 10 years in their respective category.
e. Ex-Servicemen A relaxation of 5 years in their respective category.

A candidate who has rendered at least 03 (three) years of regular service under the Government of Jharkhand, shall be granted 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.

7. A candidate belonging to the Extremely Backward Classes (Annexure-I)/Backward Classes (Annexure-II), Female, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Category & also covered under any other clause such as Persons with Benchmark
Disability, Ex-servicemen or clause 6 (ii)(b) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021 will be eligible for grant of cumulative age relaxation under both the categories.

8. Notwithstanding the provision of age-relaxation under Rule 6 (ii) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021 Candidates of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) will be considered to be eligible for appointment only if he/she (after such physical examination as the Government or appointing authority, as the case may be, may prescribe) is found to satisfy the requirements of physical and medical standards for the concerned Services/Posts to be allocated to the Candidates of Persons with Benchmark Disability by the Government.

Prerequisites to claim the benefit of JPSC age relaxation or reservation.

1. JPSC age relaxation or reservations will be amended by Government from time to time. So please do check JPSC website.
2. Date of birth mentioned in Matriculation certificate will be the base for calculation the candidate age.
3. The aspirants claiming JPSC age relaxation/reservation in multiple reserved categories for the Jharkhand PSC Exam shall be entitled to only one of the concessions (in the case of many), whichever is more beneficial.
4. The candidate must be a Domicile of Jharkhand to prevail the benefits of JPSC age relaxation.

JPSC 2023 Educational Qualification

The candidates willing to apply for the JPSC examination must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university/ equivalent. It is extremely important for a candidate to possess a minimum educational qualification apart from the JPSC age limit before applying for the exam.
Applicants in the final year of graduation are not eligible unless they clear their examination by the last date of application submission.

Candidates applying for the Jharkhand Yojana service will be eligible if they hold a degree from a recognized University in any of the following subjects: bachelor’s in commerce, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, Agricultural Science, or Civil Engineering.

Number of Attempts

There shall be no limitation on number of attempts, if a candidate is eligible otherwise.

Selection Procedure for JPSC Exam 2024

The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination comprises of two successive stages:-

(1) Combined Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for the Main (Written) Examination.

Preliminary Examination :-

The examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each, namely, General Studies – I and General Studies – II
(i) All questions of compulsory papers will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Question) and each paper will be of 2 hours duration.
(ii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English
(iii) Selection list for the Main (Written) Examination shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in both the papers.

However, the minimum qualifying marks will be as prescribed under Rule 17(i) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2023. 

(iv) There shall be a selection list for admission to the Main Examination which shall be prepared in the following manner:

Candidates will be arranged by the Commission in order of merit. An initial selection list shall first be prepared which shall contain candidates equal to approximately 15 times, the total number of advertised vacancies. The marks obtained by the last candidate shall be considered as the UNR cutoff.

If the representation of any of the reserved categories (horizontal or vertical) is less than 15 times the advertised vacancies of that category, then the cut off for the same shall be reduced till adequate representation (15 times the advertised vacancies) is ensured.

All candidates getting marks equal to their respective category cut off shall be included in the selection list for admission to the main examination.

All candidates in the selection list have to meet the minimum qualifying standard as mentioned in sub-Rule 17(i) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2). Combined Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts.

Main Examination :-

The Main Examination will consist of a Written Examination and an Interview Test.
(i) The Written Examination will consist of 6 papers.
(ii) Selection list for the Interview Test shall be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in Papers – II to VI (5 papers in all) subject to scoring minimum qualifying marks i.e. 30 in Paper – I and minimum qualifying marks in aggregate as prescribed under Rule 17(i) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2023in the remaining 5 papers.

(iii) There shall be a selection list for the Interview Test which shall be prepared in the following manner: Candidates will be arranged by the Commission in order of merit. An initial selection list shall be first prepared which shall contain candidates equal to approx 2.5 times the total number of advertised UNR vacancies. The marks obtained by the last candidate shall be considered as the UNR cutoff.

Those candidates belonging to reserved categories in the initial selection list who have not taken any benefit/relaxation of being in a reserved category shall be considered as UNR candidates for the purpose of this selection list. Reserved category candidates selected against reserved category seats have to be equal to approximately 2.5 times the number of advertised vacancies of the respective category. For this purpose, the cut off shall be further lowered for each reserved category to include more candidates in the selection list. This shall be in addition to the reserved category candidates selected as UNR candidates in the initial selection list.

All candidates have to meet the minimum qualifying standard as mentioned in sub-Rule 17(i) The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(iv) The Commission shall summon the candidates for the Interview, who have obtained such qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination as may be fixed by the Commission. However, this qualifying marks will not be less than the minimum qualifying marks prescribed under rule 17(i) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2023.

Provided further that if adequate number of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Extremely Backward Classes (Annexure-I)/Backward Classes (Annexure-II)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) are not available amongst the candidates to be declared qualified for admission to the Interview Test, the commission shall reduce the cut off marks for them till adequate number of candidates belonging to these categories are declared qualified for the Interview Test but the reduced cut off marks shall not be less than the minimum marks mentioned in Rule-17(i) of The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination (2nd Amendment)Rules, 2023.

(3) JPSC Interview/ Personality Test.

The total marks for Interview Test would be 100 and there shall be no minimum qualifying marks therein. The Interview is a personal interview that is conducted by a panel of experts. The Interview is an opportunity for the panel to assess the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and overall suitability for the job.

(4) Document Verification

After the interview round, candidates who successfully clear the interview are required to undergo document verification. In this stage, candidates need to present their original documents and certificates to prove their eligibility and qualification. The documents are verified by the authorities to ensure the authenticity of the information provided by the candidates.

(5) The final merit list

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall marks obtained in Main (Written Examination) and Interview Test except marks obtained in Paper –I.

(6) Medical Examination:

Candidates who are provisionally selected based on the final merit list may be required to undergo a medical examination. The purpose of the medical examination is to ensure that the selected candidates are medically fit to perform the duties associated with the position. The medical examination is conducted by authorized medical practitioners.

(7) Final Appointment

Candidates who successfully clear all the stages of the selection process, including the medical examination, are finally appointed to the respective positions. The appointment is made by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission based on the merit and the availability of vacancies. Overall, the selection process of the JPSC exam includes the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination (written examination and interview), document verification, preparation of the final merit list, medical examination, and final appointment. Candidates need to perform well in each stage to secure a position in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.

  • For JPSC Candidates should be aware that there are no specific minimum qualifying marks for the interview stage. The personality test will have a total of 100 marks.
